The GDPR replaces the EU Data Protection Directive of 1995 and supersedes the laws of individual Member States that were developed in compliance with the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. The GDPR is important because it improves the protection of EU data subject’s rights and sets clear expectations and obligations for how companies safeguard these rights.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Equideq collects information from our partners and customers to meet contractual obligations, ensure we can continue to keep them informed and provide them with the best services and support. This information can include your name, date of birth, your address and contact details and other personal information you have provided for contact and contractual purposes. It may also include electronic and/or paper correspondence with you regarding any business interactions. It may also include your bank account details and other payment information for our existing customers only which is required to fulfill our service and contractual obligations.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Equideq collects information from our customers and partners so we can manage our business relationship with them. We use this information to keep in contact with you, ensure we can meet contractual obligations and continue to provide you with the best support and services. Your personal information and contact details may be used by us to communicate with you regarding important product information and security updates, company announcements, product offers and technology news. Equideq will also need to access your data to provide the services, to address and correct technical or service problems or to assist you in response to contractual requirements. Without this information, we would be unable to provide you with the level of quality services and support you would expect. Equideq is also required to use your personal information to comply with legal requirements such as customer due diligence e.g. anti-money laundering legislation requires the processing of proof of identification and proof of address.
TRANSPARENCY AND CHOICE
Equideq respects the rights of an individual’s personal data and we will only use your information once you have provided us with the consent to do so and only for the stated purpose for which consent was provided. All individuals are entitled to access what information our company holds on them. You are also entitled to request this information to be modified or deleted. If at any time you wish to withdraw your consent, or have your personal information modified or deleted, then please submit a written request to email@example.com. Please note that withdrawing your consent does not relieve you from any outstanding contractual or legal obligations that you have entered into and Equideq will be entitled to withhold your personal information until any outstanding obligations are fulfilled and/or properly concluded as per the terms of any agreement.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
Equideq will only retain your information for as long as it is required to fulfill the purpose for which your consent was provided. You can, of course, withdraw your consent at any time, as outlined above or have your information modified or deleted by submitting a request to firstname.lastname@example.org as outlined above.
HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?
Equideq adopts international best practice and adheres to current legal requirements around the security of your personal data. This also includes the training of our staff, the implementation of policies and processes around the handling of personal data, the implementation of data sharing agreements with any third parties and the completion of regular audits to ensure we remain compliant with our obligations to protect and secure your data.
WHO DO WE SHARE YOU INFORMATION WITH?
The purpose of Equideq is to facilitate the promotion and sale of shares in horses between you and our industry partners on the Equideq platform. Equideq therefore needs to share your personal information with our partners to ensure they can provide you with the necessary service and also fulfil their contractual obligations for the sale of shares and the management of the horse throughout the term of any agreement. Personal information that Equideq shares with our partners includes your forename, surname, date of birth, email address, home address and mobile number. Equideq has data sharing agreements in place with each of our partners to ensure they comply fully with their obligations under the GDPR and any guidance issued by the Data Protection Commissioner for the protection of your personal data.
Equideq may also be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful request by public authorities, including meeting national security, regulatory or law enforcement requirements.
